HEADS AND RECESSES
The screws for plastic materials can be manufactured in a vast range of combinations.
More info: heads and recesses
THREAD
of various shapes according to the type of plastic material into which it is to be screwed.
TIP
of different shapes according to the type of application.
Ogive-shaped tip: to drill plastic material or guide the screw in a wall plug.
Rounded tip: when an inlet is necessary to facilitate screwing without being too sharp.
Tipless: for applications subject to potentially hazardous maintenance or handling.
CARBONITRIDING HEAT TREATMENT

GALVANIC TREATMENT
Guarantees resistance to rust and corrosion.

IN PROCESS CONTROLS
The entire manufacturing process is subjected to SPC (Statistical Product Control), which guarantees a constantly high level of quality in time.
The batch number on the labels ensures absolute traceability of all the phases of production and related control/test documents.
CALIBRATED SCREWS
The Mustad screws are manufactured with stricter-than-standard tolerance limits. They can therefore be defined as ‘calibrated’, that is, capable of sliding more easily in the guides and loading tubes of screwing machines.
AUTOMATIC SCREWING MACHINES
The set of characteristics illustrated above, together with a production process completely under control, make the Mustad screws suitable for automated and critical screwing operations.

HEADES AND RECESSES
This screw can be produced in a range of possible combinations.
More info: heads and recesses
WIDE THREAD
with the distance between the two threads corresponding to approximately twice that of self-tapping screws.
LARGER THREAD
twice as high as that of the self-tapping screws and an angle of 30°, as against the 60° of the self-tapping screws, penetrates deep into the material.
SMALLER THREAD
with a similar height and angle to those of the self-tapping screws, which perform a balancing action while tightening, compensating the imbalances that may occur due to the broad pitch.
ROUNDED TIP
with an angle of about 45°, with a slightly rounded end, at which the two threads end with similar heights but in opposite positions. This provides a balanced entry and a gradual initial deformation of the material that reduces effort and the risk of breakage.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE TIELLE®
– Higher tear resistance.
– Possibility of applying a higher tightening torque.
– Reduction of the risk of cracking the material.
– Tightening twice as fast.
– More balanced tightening.
– Lower tightening torque with the same outside diameter.
– Interchangeability with the self-tapping screws.
– Passing of the VDE or IMQ test of 10 screwing operations without any stripping.
– Greater vibration resistance.
- The diagram shows that the double thread of the TIELLE® screw penetrates more deeply into the material and englobes a larger quantity, thus obtaining a greater tear resistance and the possibility of applying a higher tightening torque.
Self-tapping screw for plastic materials with a single thread and an angle of 30°, generally performed with a truncated tip.

HEADS AND RECESSES
This screw can be produced in a range of possible combinations.
More info: heads and recesses
THREAD
with a sharp angle of 30° used to penetrate deep into the material.
CORE
which is sufficiently robust for the screw to be used in thermoplastic and thermosetting materials.
WIDE THREAD
with a much larger distance between two threads than that of the self-tapping screw.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PIELLE®
– Greater tear resistance.
– Possibility of applying a higher tightening torque.
– Reduction of the risk of cracking the material.
– Ideal for use in thin materials.
– Lower tightening torque with the same outside diameter.
– Interchangeability with self-tapping screws.
– Higher vibration resistance.
- The diagram shows that the double thread of the TIELLE® screw penetrates more deeply into the material and englobes a larger quantity, thus obtaining a greater tear resistance and the possibility of applying a higher tightening torque. Higher vibration resistance.

HEADS AND RECESSES
This screw can be produced in a range of possible combinations.
More info: heads and recesses
SECTION
with a trilobular profile, designed to facilitate the formation of the thread in less compressible plastic, using characteristics such as natural resilience and “creep” of the materials, thus allowing the plastic to fill the gap between the lobes.
THREAD
with a marked angle of 45°, which helps to contain the quantity of material shifted during the forming phase, limiting the radial stress on the outside of the recess in which the screw penetrates.
WIDE THREAD
which enables the stress of the forming phase to be distributed across a larger surface. In this way, the material between the threads remains intact and resistant, thus guaranteeing a high closing torque and tensile resistance.
TIP
with a gradually decreasing diameter, thus maintaining the threads sharp, so as to favour an excellent entry that helps to create the female screw.
THE ADVANTAGES OF PLASTEX®
– High tear resistance.
– Possibility of applying a higher tightening torque.
– Reduction of the risk of cracking the material.
– Ideal for use in materials with a high coefficient of elasticity.
– Lower tightening torque with the same outside diameter.
– Higher vibration resistance.
- The section of the PLASTEX® screw shows its characteristic trilobular profile, designed to facilitate the forming of the thread in less compressible plastic.
Self-tapping screw for thermoplastic materials, with a single thread having a broad pitch and biting tip.
HEAD
of a special shape and reinforced to allow the transmission of high tightening torques.
This screw can also be produced in other combinations.
More info: heads and recesses
WIDE THREAD
with a much greater distance between the two threads than that of the self-tapping screws.
THREAD
sharp and penetrating (40°) to guarantee rapid screwing with minimum effort. Compared to the traditional self-tapping screw, it guarantees higher tear resistance.
OGIVE-SHAPED TIP
with multi-radius profile, combined with the thread right to its end, ensures secure gripping without slipping and a gradual and constant penetration of the screw.

- The diagram shows that the wide thread of the PANELVIT® screw englobes a larger quantity of material, obtaining also a higher tear resistance and the possibility of applying a higher tightening torque. Higher vibration resistance.
