Description
Screw for direct screwing into: sheet metal, metal laminates, alloys, plastic materials without tapping or using nuts.
RECESS
with deep PH2 cross, to guarantee excellent coupling with the tightening tip, thus considerably reducing consumption. A deep recess, of a perfect shape, enables he same insert to be used for thousands of screwing operations.
THREAD
up to below the head, to allow the gripping of extremely thin sheets.
TIP
threaded right to the end, to allow the screw to gradually deform the material, creating a “drawing” effect, which increases the grip on thin sheets.
CARBONITRIDING HEAT TREATMENT

GALVANIC TREATMENT
The 100hrs white zinc plating treatment guarantees a rust resistance a third higher than that of standard galvanizing. Complies with the EN1670 standard grade 3.

IN PROCESS CONTROLS
The entire manufacturing process is subjected to SPC (Statistical Product Control), which guarantees a constantly high level of quality in time.
The batch number on the labels ensures absolute traceability of all the phases of production and related control/test documents.
CALIBRATED SCREWS
The Mustad self-tapping screws are manufactured with stricter-than-standard tolerance limits. They can therefore be defined ‘calibrated’, i.e. capable of sliding more easily in the guides and tubes for loading the screwing machines.
- Deep recess to ensure secure matching with the screwdriver.
- Diagram of the action of the tip of the Mustad self-tapping screw that creates the drawing effect, i.e. a deformation of the material that increases the gripping of thin sheets.
- Section of the screw that shows the characteristics of the carbonitriding treatment.
- Graph comparing a Mustad self-tapping screw with a traditional screw that demonstrates how the SPC process improves the average production quality and the tolerance.
